Wonderbelly was an unintended pregnancy with a years-long gestation. It began with a blog, expanded to a book, and absorbed all sorts of bits and pieces—sort of like parenting small children, of which I have three.

Quick Bio/Blurb:
Mindy Roberts is a transplanted Chicagoan living in the Bay Area with her three native children. She has ridden the bounty and collapse of the Silicon Valley high-tech industry, ended her 12-year marriage, and is now gainfully re-employed after a long career in the nonprofit sector. On the up side, she still has a portion of her sanity. Mindy is writing her family’s memoirs as they go along. She loves her children fiercely, lives and breathes technology, and tries her best to use her powers for good.
Mindy spent twelve years as a mild-mannered nonprofit employee. In 2002, after the birth of her third child in four years, she began to write about her life and children in the sleepless hours in an effort to capture her young family’s world in real time. This chronicle of her family’s adventures and mishaps through a chaotic period of marital, emotional, and financial strife is retold in her first book, Mommy Confidential: Adventures From the Wonderbelly of Motherhood.

Take a woman fresh out of college, plop her down in Silicon Valley, saddle her with a mortgage, let her ride the tech boom, give her three babies in four years, slap her with the tech bust, watch vicariously as her marriage disintegrates, end her career, and hand her a computer. What do you get? Mommy Confidential: Adventures from the Wonderbelly of Motherhood, a memoir in real time adapted from the wildly popular weblog, The Mommy Blog.
Mommy Confidential is a naked, brutally funny, endearingly honest chronicle of family life beset by disaster on many fronts. Mindy keeps her family together through catastrophic illness, four bouts of postpartum depression, financial peril, relationship Chernobyl, familial Waterloo, and job instability. All through it her sense of humor and her sharp, edgy, witty writing keep her together and upright.
“This is like a circus train wreck. It’s horrifying but I can’t seem to avert my eyes and keep from laughing.” – Lee Walinchus
“Reads like a sarcastic Bridget Jones-meets-real-life-motherhood in the USA, imbued with humor, love, and angst." —BabyZone Magazine
"Funny and well-written. The world has been in need of a maternal humorist since Erma Bombeck died.” —Lulu.com RadioRead the first chapter

Favor time: if you've bought, borrowed, or in any way read my book, the book cover, seen a picture of the book cover, or know me at all... could you pretty please leave a review or even just a rating on Amazon?
I'm working on the sequel and it would be nice to have lots of feedback by the time it's ready for publication. Which right now is after I win the lottery and the children start taking care of everything around the house. Maybe sooner.
