“What a lovely picture!”  “These cookies are delicious!”  “Santa knows when you are sleeping!”  The little white lie is designed to minimize hurt feelings, fear, and anger… and to keep our kids innocent as long as possible.  But don’t we teach our kids to value truth?  So where do you draw the line between acceptable lying and unacceptable lying?  Mindy Roberts of The Mommy Blog asks, “Do you lie to your children?”

It’s the consummate Donna-Reed-esque image: the family, gathered around the table, ready to partake in a glorious evening meal… probably of some red meat and potatoes (it was the ’50s).  Fast-forward a half-century: Mom’s working late; Dad has a business dinner; the kids are at play practice and a friend’s house, and dinner is taken to go.  It appears in these  busy times, that the family meal is going somewhat the way of the dinosaur.  So, is the family meal still an important tradition?  Heather Armstrong of Dooce.com asks, “Are family dinners important to your family?”

Men’s rights.  Sounds a bit strange to the ear, doesn’t it?  But to people like radio show host Glenn Sacks, the need for pro-male campaigns is all too real.  After all, shirts like designer David & Goliath’s “Boys Are Stupid. Throw Rocks at Them” are popular but are also, to some, unfair and downright wrong.  And they’re not easily explainable to young, impressionable boys.

But how much of a widespread problem is this?  Are girls now getting too big a piece of the self-esteem pie?  Rebecca Woolf from Girl’s Gone Child wants to know, “Are boys getting a bad rap?”
